As part of the first Lunar Series, the Lunar Series I Pig Gold is one of the most sought-after investment coins. This gold coin is particularly popular among collectors.

The Perth Mint minted the Lunar Series I for the first time from 1997 to 2007. The animal motifs change annually, in line with the Chinese lunar calendar, which repeats every 12 years. Each motif has a special meaning; the Chinese zodiac sign Pig and all born under it are known to be very helpful, emotional, loyal, straightforward, and good-natured.

Due to the low mintage and rarity, significant premiums can be expected on the purchase price. The mintage of this coin was limited to 18,149 pieces worldwide, making it a great rarity.
