Gold Fourfold Ducat Reissue

Since the 13th century, ducats have existed in Europe, with gold ducats from Venice being of high importance in the late 13th century. However, most of the gold ducats still in circulation today come from Austria, where ducats were minted from the 16th to the 20th century. Until 1858, ducats were an official currency in Austria, and since the gold ducats from Austria were approved as trade gold coins, they could be minted further until 1915. All modern reissues show the year 1915, as well as Emperor Franz Joseph and the double-headed eagle. For this reason, the 4 ducat gold coin from Austria is an investment coin that has a rather low collector's value.
