The annual changing motif of the China Panda features a panda mother with her cub on the reverse side in 2011. The obverse side depicts the world-famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing, the year of minting, and in Chinese characters "People's Republic of China."

China Mint has been minting the 1 ounce China Panda coins since 1982 with a purity of 999/1000 and has had a face value of 500 Yuan since the year 2001.
