The 1/4 ounce Krugerrand gold coin from South Africa is one of the most well-known and also one of the most popular gold coins in the world. The classic of investment coins. Since 1967, this gold coin has been issued by the Rand Refinery in Germiston, near Johannesburg. Due to the addition of copper, the Krugerrand gets its reddish color and thus increases scratch resistance.
