The Vienna Philharmonic Gold has been minted by the Austrian Mint since 1989. It is one of the most sought-after and popular classics among gold investment coins worldwide. Since its first issue in 1989, it was at times listed by the World Gold Council as the best-selling coin in the world. Until the introduction of the Euro in 2002, the nominal value was 2000 schillings. To this day, the mintage for the one-ounce gold coin is approximately 10 million pieces. The fineness is very high at 999.9/1000. The designs feature the world-famous organ from the Musikverein building and instruments of the orchestra that bears its name. Investors can purchase the following denominations of the Vienna Philharmonic gold coins: 1/25 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, and the special mintages of 1000 oz and 20 oz.
