Silver Niob Coin 50 Years of Television

Television is rightly considered one of the most influential innovations and has significantly changed people's lives and leisure behavior over the past 50 years. The silver niobium coin from 2005 has skillfully recalled the birth of the 'box' by the skilled engravers of the Austrian Mint.

A true retro design in contemporary art is that black-and-white test pattern, which was used in the 1950s for calibrating and focusing the television image. It can be seen in the purple niobium core. The reverse side shows milestones in television history: a television set from the 50s, a television camera from the 70s, the later remote control, and a satellite dish.

With a maximum mintage of 65,000 pieces, this coin was issued in 'Handcrafted' quality. '50 Years of Television' consists of 900 silver in the outer ring and pure niobium inside. Each coin is packaged in both a capsule and a box. A special certificate guarantees its authenticity.
